Along the granite way

Well if it does rain and you need shelter there are a few of these. This one is very close to the start of the railway path at Lydford

Lydford Castle. In fact a glorified lock up. Managed by English Heritage it's small but perfect, especially as it's free access

Brent Tor Church in evening light. You can see this for miles around. It's built on one of Dartmoors most outlying granite tors
